Geeta Iyengar   December 7, 1944 - December 15, 2018
Words are inadequate to express my sadness with Geeta Iyengar's sudden passing. I had the great good fortune to be in India for the Centennial Classes to celebrate what would have been her Father's 100th Birthday. These classes and celebrations concluded on his birthday, Friday, December 14th. Geetaji gave everything to us in these classes. Her teachings were simple yet profound. Simple because she was directing us to use what we had and could sense, our bodies, to bring our consciousness within. Profound because through the body, she showed us how to cultivate space and sensitivity to a part of us that is beyond the limitations of our ego. She was a true yoga teacher and guru, one who removes the darkness and sheds light on the path ahead. Our loss is deep, a light has gone.
