This class is designed for students who have developed an interest in learning more about yoga philosophy and how it relates to their own life and yoga practice. The class will include asana, pranayama and philosophy discussion. Students should be willing to practice at home (a few times a week) as homework (asana, pranayama and reading assignments) will be required for self-study and reflection. In addition to the 8 limbs of yoga, other yoga philosophy topics will be included. No previous experience with pranayama or yoga philosophy study are required. Level 3/4 students Prior exposure to Iyengar yoga required. Familiar with shoulderstand and beginning practice of headstand.
Denise Wendler has been studying yoga since 1985 and teaching since 1996. She is an Intermediate Junior I Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher and a graduate of the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco. She was fortunate to go to Pune in 2005 to study with the Iyengar family. Denise continues her studies with Manouso Manos and is currently enrolled in the three year Iyengar Yoga Therapeutics Teacher Training.
